Like various regional languages ​​of Bangladesh, Sylhet also has its own regional language. Whose name is Sylheti language. And it has its own citizen alphabet that no one else has. However, there are various opinions about the naming of Sylhet, some people think that it has been named according to Hindu mythology. 

Note that in the past Sylhet was called Shrihatta, and according to them they are like this. Many also think that Sylhet was named after Atkishori given by the then Gaur Raja. According to many, on hearing the news of the arrival of Harjat Shahjalal Rahmatullahi in Sylhet, the then King Gaur Govinda obstructed the border of Sylhet with stones by his miraculous power.
